I am a licensed social worker and have a Master’s in children, youth and families counseling. I have worked with adolescents, college students, adults, and families from various ethnic, cultural, and socioeconomic backgrounds. My approach to counseling embodies fundamentals of Motivational Interviewing principles. I strive to engage in client-centered therapy through empathic communication. I collaborate with clients to increase their autonomy in attaining clinical goals. A large part of this process often involves assisting clients in increasing their understanding of their own tendencies, perceptions, and relationships around them. While I am trained in various modalities, the actual approach is determined by client’s concerns, cultural background, and preferences.
